Scholar's Ink Studio Ltd. was founded by Olivia Wang in 2013. Olivia has over twelve years of experience working in the art industry. Previously, she worked as a specialist in the Chinese Works of Art department at Sotheby’s Hong Kong before joining the Saadiyat Island Cultural District in Abu Dhabi, where she developed public and exhibition programmes. Olivia holds a BA from Brown University and MPhil from Oxford University.
Olivia is an art consultant, curator and writer, with a focus in contemporary Asian ink art. As a consultant, Olivia works with individual collectors and corporations in their acquisitions of artworks that are specific to their particular needs, areas of interest and budget. Olivia has curated solo and group exhibitions. Her writing on contemporary Chinese art has been published in the Wall Street Journal, ArtAsiaPacific, Orientations, and the Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, among others. She is the producer and director of the short film Unsung Heroes of Ink (2020), a documentary on the role of paper in ink art.
